An Organisation Run by Instructors, for Instructors
With more than 30 years experience of running successful clubs,
we know what instructors want from an Organisation and we think we deliver.
It’s who we are and we are proud of it.
Our Promise
We Champion our member clubs and instructors rather than chain them, hold them up instead of holding them back.
Recognise and celebrate our instructors and Black Belts achievements.
Publish their grades and qualifications on our register and promise to never remove them, even if they choose to leave us.
Trust them and support them in their choices and decisions for the growth and development of their club and its students.
This is our promise to all of our member clubs and instructors brave enough to open and register a club with us.
Moving to a new organisation can be daunting, its a huge decision for any club, its always good to hear our members say that it has been one of the best decisions they have ever made for their club and its students.
Who We Are
We have been helping instructors run successful clubs since 1984, We love what we do and have a passion for doing things well.
We're not out to conquer the world, we stick to what we know and what works.
Our Directors are also full time Club Instructors, we have trained under some of the worlds most well known and influential Sensei's, we believe that having one foot in the past while constantly updating and developing our syllabus and technique is key in running an exciting and evolving organisation.
With more than 40 years experience in teaching Ju-Jitsu and many years involvement in running large martial arts organisation's, we know our industry like the back of our hands. We use our experience and knowledge to help every club that joins us.
From day one, our aim has always been to lead by example, never to pretend to be something we are not and to always give the best possible service and advise to our members.
Doing things properly rather than cutting corners has always been foremost in every decision we have made.
We know what it means to run a Martial Arts Club, we believe that an organisation's role should be support and not control.
BJJKO Instructors run their own clubs the way they see fit, we only ask that they follow our safeguarding policy as well as the law, we can be involved as much or as little as needed.
Grading and Training Format for all Member Clubs
All Students and Instructors Current Grades and qualifications earned or awarded with previous groups are accepted when joining.
Students are graded dependent on each clubs syllabus and time scale between Kyu grades.
Our Official Examiners are available to member clubs for grading events when needed and if this is the way a club chooses to grade, however, Kyu grade students would normally be graded by their club Instructor and not BJJKO organisation officials.
All Kyu grades taken within a BJJKO registered club are supported and certified by the BJJKO.
All DAN grade's taken with us are ratified and officiated by BJJKO Senior Technical Instructors, Mike Rowan Hanshi 9th DAN and Andrew McConville Shihan, 8th DAN.
Any training, student development and grading's undertaken and delivered by BJJKO club instructors, are recognized and supported by the BJJKO in line with our guidance, criteria and procedures.
Be part of a different type of Organisation, get in touch anytime, call, email or use our contact form.
A Professional Martial Arts Organisation
We have a proven track record in supporting our club instructors.
There are many independent Ju-Jitsu clubs across the UK, run by experienced instructors who just want to run their club their way, but still want to be part of a supporting body to ratify grades and manage membership.
